Leeds Council chiefs have committed £1.5million a year to funding police community support officers (PCSOs) for a further three years.
The executive board yesterday (March 13) agreed to continue to part-fund 165 of the city’s 310 PCSOs.
Mark Burns-Williamson, West Yorkshire Police Crime Commissioner said: “The fact these PCSOs have been protected shows the commitment of the council and will make a difference on the streets for people right across Leeds.”
