The Chapel Allerton Labour councillor said: "Chapeltown is an area with great historical and cultural heritage dating back hundreds of years and it is vitally important that this heritage is protected and preserved. Local residents have a very important role to play in this.
"We look forward to seeing some new faces."
The group's regular meetings feature guest speakers, with recent topics including the legacy of buildings built by the Jewish community.
This month, a representative from the Civic Trust will be talking about 'blue plaque' buildings.
Other members include the other local councillors Mohammed Rafique and Eileen Taylor, as well as staff from Leeds City Council, the Leeds Civic Trust and guest speakers from the heritage community.
