Fruit lovers can press apples, eat apples and even take part in an apple-themed quiz during the first-ever Headingley Apple Day this weekend.
Saturday’s event (Oct 20) aims to celebrate orchards and garden fruits and is one of several ‘Apple Days’ taking place across the country this autumn.
Organised by Headingley Development Trust in partnership with several local groups, a range of activities are planned, including poetry, live music and a display of apple-themed artwork.
Visitors can also sample ciders, apple cake and as many as 30 different varieties of apple, while browsing stalls selling fruit trees and plants.
Headingley Apple Day is free to enter and takes place at the Headingley Enterprise and Arts (HEART) centre on Bennett Road, from 1.30pm until 6pm.
