Police appeal after Leeds smash

Police in Leeds have issued an appeal for witnesses after a car smash in Horsforth.

At about 7.30pm on Sunday night, a silver Vauxhall Astra, which was travelling along Bayton Lane towards Horsforth, left the carriageway and collided with a wall.

The 45-year-old driver, from Cookridge, was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment and discharged earlier today.

Officers investigating the incident are keen to trace any witnesses, particularly the driver of a Fiat Punto that stopped briefly at the scene.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC 5344 Julian Ingham of the roads policing unit at Horsforth police station via 0845 6060606.
