INQUIRY: The woman was found with serious head injuries on the pavement in Kirkstall Road, Leeds.

Police have so far been unable to interview a woman injured when she plunged from the window of a flat above a shop in Leeds.

The woman suffered injuries that were serious but not thought to be life threatening when she crashed to the pavement from the window above the Spy Shop on Kirkstall Road, Kirkstall, Leeds, around 9.30pm on Friday night. (April 13)

The woman was still in hospital last night where she was taken after being found with serious head and internal injuries.

How she came to fall through the window is not yet clear to detectives from North West Leeds CID.

The scene around a parade of six shops between Cardigan Lane and Greenhow Road was cordoned off by police soon after the woman was found on Friday and was taken to hospital.

Blood spatters and a few coins were also discovered on the paving flags and the window of the flat above the shop was still open when she was found.
