POLICE are trying to trace the owners of various items of jewellery that may have been stolen.

West Yorkshire Police are appealing for information to help find the owners of items including a locket, rings and a jewellery box, which were recently recovered by officers.

Wakefield CID would like to speak to anyone who recognises the jewellery, which was recovered in Castleford earlier this month as part of an ongoing enquiry into burglaries in West Yorkshire.

Police constable Steve Sayles of Wakefield CID, said: “We are working to trace the owners of this jewellery which was recovered recently and would like to speak to anyone who has information.

“Although this property was recovered from Castleford it could have from anywhere in West Yorkshire.”

Anyone who recognises the jewellery or has information about who it might belong to should contact PC Steve Sayles at Wakefield CID on non-emergency number 101.

Alternatively, you can give information by calling CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
