POLICE are investigating reports that a pack of savage dogs have attacked people and another dog on a Leeds estate.
Specialist officers were called to Sledmere Garth, Whinmoor just after 3.30pm following reports that three Akita-type dogs had been involved in a number of incidents.
The YEP understands that local residents contacted police saying that the animals had attacked another dog as well as people.
One resident contacted the YEP to say that a dog believed to be a Cocker Spaniel had received serious injuries and that police were on the scene.
A spokeswoman for West Yorkshire police confirmed that they had received a number of calls that three Akitas had been attacking dogs and humans in the area.
She added: “It is believed the residents who made the call have lost sight of the dogs following the incident. Police are currently investigating. No humans are believed to have been attacked.”
