WHEN city worker Rob Eaglesham discovered a blue glove in his Super Bean Lentil and Barley Marks and Spencers soup we asked YEP readers to tell us what unusual finds they had discovered in their food.

Here’s what Facebook and website users had to say:

Sarah Phsychic Fairs: Yep. Plastic in fish and in bread.

Simon Caulfield: I found some melted green plastic in a microwaveable curry rice. They [the manufacturers] sent me a voucher for a fiver!

John ‘Huxy’ Huxall: I once found half of a pencil in my shop-bought sandwich and my dad found a bolt in his steak and kidney pie!

Kelly Mcvicker: I found a big false fingernail on top of my toffee apple from a supermarket. I contacted head office and they did nothing!

Harry Evers: I once found a strip of woven fabric in a chocolate bar, but more worrying was the piece of sharp steel in a restaurant carbonara.

Zoë Joseph Edwards: I bought chewing gum recently and there was a bit of string in it.

Janet Mummyofanangelhardbottle: I found an earwig in a loaf of bread.

Some readers saw the funny side, with Michael Canny saying: Maybe he should buy another pot of delightful soup and see if he can make a pair? Who needs a Kinder Surprise when you have this kind of excitement available?

Lisa Mc: I’d rather eat the glove.

Simon Banks: Not just any old soup, oh no this is M&S blue rubber latex and lentil soup hmmmm!

Jimmy Mclaughlin: Completely free glove and he’s complaining? I would be back for more soup to complete the set.

Lee Bogg: If he keeps bragging like that pretty soon everyone’s gonna want glove soup!
