The speed limit looks set to be slashed on a busy road near a Leeds secondary school.
Leeds City Council is proposing to introduce a 20mph limit for sections of Farnley Lane and Newall Carr Road outside Prince Henry’s Grammar School, in Otley.
Local councillors have asked for “School- 20 When Lights Show” signs installed along the road which will operate at busy times.
The move comes following concerns of safety after a number of near misses along the busy road.
A similar 20mph advisory speed limit scheme has been implemented on Arthington Lane, in Pool-in-Wharfedale, on roads close to the village’s primary school.
