Personality disorder art is Leeds bound
A festival of art dealing with the issue of personality disorders and featuring work from the Tate Modern in London is to be staged in Leeds.
Entitled 'Creative Personalities 2009', the festival will involve a day of film, art, debate, workshops and theatrical performances.
The venue will be The Carriageworks Theatre in the city's Millennium Square.
A preview exhibition will run from 6pm on Tuesday, January 6 and will culminate in the festival on January 30.
The exhibition will feature local artists and will be hosted by Yorkshire-based mental health charity Community Links in association with user group Personality Plus, Tate Modern, and The Carriageworks.
Awareness
Community Links director of planning John Anderson said: "Creative Personalities 2009 acts as an important platform to raise awareness of personality disorder as a mental health issue.
"Many people find that art is a really useful way of getting to grips with difficult feelings.
"We hope these events will provide opportunities to develop more creative projects led by people with mental health issues across Yorkshire and the Humber."
A launch reception will be held at 6 pm on January 6.
