Performers prepare for 40th Harrogate International Youth Festival

l

l

Scores of performers are set to tune up ahead of the 40th Harrogate International Youth Festival.

The festival’s traditional Easter Saturday parade through the streets of Harrogate town centre was cancelled in 2008 following new traffic management arrangements.

The parade, which was reinstated last year, marks the start of the festival which has already attracted groups from Canada, Spain, Switzerland and Ghana.

Mike Clark, managing director of ECE Travel LTD which runs the festival, said: “Our international groups shape the understanding for locals and concert goers of just how highly regarded this event is.

“Combine these with our fantastic local groups and some special events for this anniversary year and 2013 is already shaping up to be bigger and better than 2012.”

The festival will run from Saturday, March 30, until Wednesday, April 3.

For more information about the festival schedule visit: www.hiyf.co.uk or call 0844 858 1545.
