Age and illness hasn’t stopped the Sheppard brothers – who have a combined age of 275 – from tackling a gruelling 10k race.

The four Leeds-born pensioners have signed up for the Asda Foundation York tomorrow to celebrate eldest brother David’s successful battle against cancer.

David, 73, who now lives in Bradford, Peter, 69, from Bardsey, Ray, 67, of Cheshire, and Richard, 66, from Kippax, will be raising money for the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, which supports various cancer and children’s charities.
