Pensioner brought misery to a street

A pensioner held a pick axe over his neighbour’s dog’s head and threatened to hit it.

Frederick Poole, 69, also threatened to feed Tim the West Highland Terrier rat poison during the incident in Ferrybridge, near Pontefract.

Retired grandparents Gordon and Doreen Kelsey told of their misery living next door to Poole after a Leeds Crown Court judge handed him a 21 week suspended prison sentence.

The couple say he cut cars up in his garage in the early hours and played loud music at 3am

Poole denied the offence but was convicted.

Cassie Williams, mitigating, said he felt ashamed and embarrassed.
