Otley: Women thieves target pensioner
Two women thieves targeted an 82-year-old woman in Otley after grabbing her handbag from her walking frame.
The elderly victim was in Daisy Mays card shop, in Market Place, when a woman distracted her by asking her to read the greeting on a card.
The victim then felt her walking frame move and noticed her bag was missing.
The second woman was holding the bag but then dropped it on the shop floor after being challenged by the victim. Both women ran out of the shop towards Manor Square before getting into a black Honda Civic estate after the theft at about 11am on Monday November 2.
Police are appealing for witnesses - in particular a witness who passed details of the car's registration to staff at the shop but did not leave their details.
* Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Constable Simon Heathcote at Otley police station on (01274) 471462.
