November 2009

We arrested two men, age 19 and 20 from the local area after they were caught exiting a premises on Consort Terrace in possession of laptops. They had just burgled the house whilst the house was empty. Two men have been charged and are on remand.

If you have any information about suspicious activity then please ring us. If you have been offered a laptop for sale on the street of door to door then we need to know - please ring us and we can do the rest!

We have just recruited 12 new student neighbourhood watch coordinators.

They are enthusiastic students who want to contribute to the community and are more eyes and ears in the neighbourhood.

We have recently been on the local buses in plain clothes working with First Bus to detect anti- social behaviour on public bus routes. I am pleased to say that there was no disorder and the youths from our local schools were well behaved. We will continue to repeat these operations to make you feel safe on public transport.

October 2009

Your local Neighbourhood Policing Team have been working through the night to tackle the burglars in the Hyde Park and Woodhouse area. But we still can't solve all the problems without your help.

I must say a big thank you to the member of the public who telephoned us last week to report some suspicious activity in Hyde Park. Officers rushed to the address on Hyde Park Road, arrested 2 men and recovered several items of property from a local address that had just been burgled. We can get results with your help.

A man who was drug dealing from Oatland Towers in Little London received a four and a half year sentence for supplying drugs. It sometimes takes a while to piece together all the evidence in relation to drug dealing but eventually the wait is worth it when offenders are given these sentences and it cleans up your neighbourhood. Please contact us with any information you may have.

We are holding a coffee morning at Space next door to Little London Primary School between 8.30am and 10am on Wednesday 4th November. Hopefully this will catch some of you after you've dropped your kids off at school or any of you early risers! I look forward to seeing you to discuss any issues you may have.

Also, thank you for all those of you who attended our Open Day at Carnegie Stadium. It was a fun day for kids and parents alike.
