To celebrate Opera North’s production of La Boheme, opening at Leeds Grand Theatre on April 29, the Company has launched a new membership scheme for people under 30 and students.

The scheme, which is free to join, includes offers of free or £10 tickets for Opera North’s productions at the Grand Theatre and Leeds Town Hall, discounts on events at the Howard Assembly Room, and discounts at some restaurants and bars.

La Boheme tells about the tumultuous lives and loves of a group of young bohemians in Paris return to Opera North in April/May 2014, in an blockbuster production of one of the most popular and heartbreaking operas of all time.

Directed by the multi award-winning theatre, opera and film director Phyllida Lloyd (Mamma Mia, The Iron Lady), the production is set in the late 1950s, a time when art, music and philosophy reigned in Paris. Atmospheric set designs vividly convey the hustle and bustle of the Parisian streets and the Left Bank cafes and clubs, giving full expression to the joy, wit and frivolity of student life.

Any one who is 19-29 years old or a full time students can sign up to the Under 30s scheme at www.operanorth.co.uk/under-30s or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/OperaNorth

La Boheme is at Leeds Grand Theatre April 29-May 10.
