New games area for Kippax Common
Young people will soon have a new sports facility as £70,000 is to be spent on creating a new multi-use games area at Kippax Common.
Leeds City Council has agreed to help part fund the project which will see the creation of a tarmacked playing area with rebound walls.

A local action group has been campaigning for the development of such a facility and following public consultation it was agreed that the Council would help fund the project.
Local residents also succeeded in securing further funding for the project from the Caird Bardon landfill tax credit scheme.
Councillor Andrew Carter, executive member for development and regeneration, told Kippax Today: "As an administration we are always keen to back these types of schemes as they bring huge benefits, not only to young people in the area, but to all local residents. We have been working hard to improve our parks and greenspaces right across Leeds."
He added: "It is particularly pleasing that local residents have shown their support and commitment to this project by securing additional funding from the tax credit scheme.
"This is another good example of how we can create safe, open spaces that will encourage people to take advantage of the great outdoors and pursue a healthy lifestyle."
