More rent rise Leeds taxi cab protests UPDATED
Drivers from one of Leeds's biggest cab firms staged continued rent rise protests over the weekend.
As reported in Saturday's YEP, about 250 members of the GMB Private Hire Association gathered outside the Armley base of Amber Cars on Friday.
A follow-up demonstration involving more than 200 people took place at the office between 3pm on Saturday and 3am yesterday.
Another protest was due to be held last night, with further demos planned each day this week.
Drivers from Amber have been told the weekly amount they pay to be part of the firm's fleet is going up from 90 to 100.
Amber says its stance is based on a need to be competitive and retain its market position.
