Methley Scarecrow Festival winners announced

Winners of this year's storybook-themed Methley Scarecrow Festival have been announced.

The resident who created a straw effigy of Jiminy Cricket won first prize in the vote, with scarecrows of the Mad Hatter's Tea Party, Three Blind Mice and Dracula taking joint second place.

The winner of the scarecrow story competition was Emma Grundy and the quiz was won by Carrick Shields, Lynn Garman, Sarath Thornton, Mrs S Hodgeson and Hollie Worsnop.

Joanne Lund, organiser, said the third annual extravaganza raised just under 2,000 for Methley and Mickletown in Bloom.
