Masterchef TV cook takes helm at new-look West Yorkshire pub

A pub has a new celebrity head chef to go with its £225,000 makeover.

Tom Rennolds, runner-up on last year’s Masterchef, has joined The Craven Heifer in Addingham, near Ilkley.

“I’m really enjoying it, cooking what I want to cook and having freedom in the kitchen,” said Tom, 27.

“I can’t really see past the immediate future. I’m committed 100 percent to making a success of The Craven Heifer.”

The Craven Heifer, which was previously a Chinese restaurant, reopened its doors at the end of August after a huge joint investment with owners, Punch Taverns.

New landlord Craig Minto, who also runs The Fleece in the same village, said: “Tom is highly skilled and I have every confidence that he can help us reposition The Craven Heifer as a destination food pub.”

The pub will use locally-sourced ingredients, as well as a range of gins, whiskies and cask ales produced by microbrewers in a 10 mile radius.
