Mark Price: Tributes to Castleford Panthers rugby league player
Mark Price.
Tributes have been paid to a popular amateur rugby player who collapsed and died on a night out.
Mark Price, 23, collapsed in the early hours of Sunday (February 12) at the nightclub on Beastfair, Pontefract shortly after an “altercation” on a nearby street.
But police are not treating his death as suspicious.
Paramedics were called at around 12.15am after Mr Price fell unconscious.
He played at Castleford Panthers.
Paul Phelps, the club’s publicity officer, said: “It’s come as a terrible shock. Mark was a very committed to the club, he was always putting his hand up to pull on the shirt.”
Mr Price had been involved in an altercation on the Corn Market at around 10pm on Saturday.
