Images of a man British Transport Police (BTP) would like to speak to in connection with a sexual assault on a Leeds woman have been released.

The appeal comes after a 19-year-old Leeds woman was inappropriately touched on a train travelling between Stalybridge and Leeds on Thursday, August 23, at around 5.30pm.

During the attack, which was on the 17.11 Manchester Piccadilly to Scarborough service, the man exposed himself to the victim.

PC Tahira Bibi, from BTP, said: “This was an extremely distressing experience for the victim and we are determined to catch the man responsible.”

The man being sought was described as slim, Asian, 5ft 10in, around 20 years of age, wearing a short sleeved red checked shirt and rucksack.

He is believed to have travelled on to Bradford.

Call 0800 405040 quoting reference B9/NEA of August 30 2012 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 with information.
