Television newsman Harry Gration is set to launch and compete in next month’s 18th annual Wakefield Hospice 10K road race.
The BBC Look North presenter will start an estimated 1,400 runners off before joining in the major fundraising event on Sunday April 14.
THe hospice’s director of fundraising Helen Knowles, said “We are delighted Harry has chosen to support Wakefield Hospice in this way and we wish him the best of luck in the race.
“We are so thankful to all of our supporters who turn up and run at this event. It has a huge impact on the hospice funding, last year raising over £40,000 which will fund the whole hospice for four and half days.”
The Harratts sponsored 10K race will start at 9am on Lawefield Lane next to Clarence Park. The Mascot race and fun run start at 10am.
Entry to the 10K ranges from £13 to £17 and entry to the fun run is £4 for under 18s and £6 for over 18s. All 10K runners will receive a T shirt and fun runners will get a medal.
