Forget driving to the coast, from this weekend families can take a trip to the beach without leaving the city.
The hugely-successful City Beach is returning to Leeds and pulling out all the stops to transform Millennium Square into an oasis of fun from Saturday until Sunday August 31.
A traditional Ferris Wheel will overlook the real sand play area, which will be surrounded by deck chairs and palm trees And there will be a range of activities and stalls, including Punch & Judy shows, trampolines, a beach slide, carousel, pirate boats, water cannons and a number of thrill rides.
The urban beach is organised by International Funfairs in partnership with Leeds City Council. It will be open daily from 10.30am to 7pm. Entry to the site and beach area is free, with individual admission fees for all rides and attractions.
