Be ready to be blasted back to the 80s next year as Let’s Rock Leeds! family music festival announces its first Leeds date.
Boasting a line-up full of 80s artists the event is scheduled for next year on June 21 at Temple Newsham.
The festival is scheduled for only one day but includes acts such as Bananarama, Kim Wilde, Howard Jones, ABC, Nik Kershaw, Alexander O’Neal, Nick Heyward, The Real Thing, Altered Images, Brother Beyond, Jaki Graham and Then Jerico.
The musical celebration has been held in Bristol and Berkshire before and will be starting new annual festivals in Southampton and Leeds next year.
Originally starting as a small charity event in Cookridge, it has grown every year and has broken into the commercial scene.
Festival Organiser Matt Smith said: “Leeds is a huge city used to these kinds of events, so we wanted to be a part of it. We hope to follow this year’s festival and continue the event, getting bigger every time.”
The festival is expected to sell 12,000 tickets this year, but with a large capacity there are plenty of spaces left.
Aimed for families as well as 80s fans the day will offer attractions for children such as a free Bigtopmania circus, a funfair and water rides.
The festival is only scheduled for a single day this year with tickets going on general sale on November 1.
