Leeds United: Ex-player's wheelchair challenge
Former England and Leeds United defender Danny Mills will have to use his hands instead of his feet when he takes on the biggest challenge of his life.
Danny will be attempting to complete the Brighton marathon in a wheelchair in April. He is doing it to raise awareness of and change attitudes to wheelchair users. He also plans to spend a week living in a wheelchair.
Danny launched his Wheelchair Challenge yesterday in Harrogate and will be raising money for the Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus, of which he is a patron, and the National Association of Disabled Supporters.
He said: "It won't be easy, but I want to show how everyday things we take for granted can be a lot more difficult when you are a wheelchair user, like going to the shops.
"What should also be a good way to get about in everyday life can be limited by the environ-ment and other people's attitudes to dis-ability."
