Leeds United dream comes true for Lotto winner
A chef who won £2.6m in the National Lottery aims to celebrate by organising a dream trip...to Leeds United's Elland Road ground.
Herbert Plant, a chef at a hospice for the homeless in Worcester, said he would treat himself to a holiday and, as a United fan, wanted to visit Elland Road as soon as possible.
He also hoped to return to his job.
Mr Plant, 49, said: "My youngest son Jamie did say he thought it was going to be a lucky weekend."
He realised he had hit the jackpot when his other son Richard, 24, checked his Lotto tickets on Sunday.
Mr Plant celebrated his win with a meal of faggots and chips in Monmouth.
He said he had not heard from his ex-wife since his win, adding that she has remarried.
Mr Plant, who plays by Lucky Dip, had Saturday's winning numbers of 15, 20, 22, 34, 37 and 39.
