Leeds cabbie robbed at knifepoint

A taxi driver was threatened with a knife and robbed by hooded thugs in daylight in Leeds.

Police have revealed that the victim of the robbery was called to pick up a fare at an address in Balbec Avenue, Headingley, at about 10.20am last Sunday

When the driver pulled up at the house, two hooded youths got into his vehicle and immediately threatened the cabbie with a knife before demanding cash.

The two robbers then grabbed the driver's mobile phone, his cash and a coin holder and ran off over Woodhouse Ridge towards Meanwood Road.

Both robbers are described as mixed race aged 16 to 17 and slim. One was about 5ft tall and wore a dark brown zip-up jacket. The other was wearing a green hooped top.
