Leeds village's eight days to object to homes on fields

A planning inquiry was starting today into controversial plans to build houses on green field land in a north Leeds village.

Leeds City Council planners refused permission for the development at Church Fields in Boston Spa.

Developer Taylor Wimpey has appealed and an eight-day hearing is taking place at Boston Spa village hall.

Coun John Procter (Con, Wetherby) said: "The inquiry is the perfect opportunity for Boston Spa residents to show the depth of feeling there is about plans to build on Church Fields."

He urged residents to register availability to attend the hearing. Contact: The Clerk, Boston Spa Parish Council, The Village Hall, High Street, Boston Spa; email bostonspapc@bt
