Leeds United: Lorimer back fans remembrance fund
Former Leeds United stars are getting behind a bid to raise £100,000 in memory of murdered Whites supporters Chris Loftus and Kevin Speight.
Around 140 people will be doing their bit to boost the Leeds Fans Remembrance fund by taking part in a sponsored bike ride from Leeds to Skipton and back on Saturday, October 31.
And now it has been announced that they will be cheered on their way by United's Revie era hero Peter Lorimer, who has agreed to be the ride's starter.

A figure from the club's more recent past, ex-skipper Dominic Matteo, will also be on hand to raffle a mountain bike in aid of the fund.
Mr Loftus's brother, Andy, said: "The amount of backing we've had has been fantastic.
"It's not just from Leeds fans either – supporters from other clubs are getting involved too."
Mr Loftus and Mr Speight were stabbed in the Turkish city of Istanbul in April 2000, on the eve of a Uefa Cup tie between United and local side Galatasaray.
The tragedy prompted a huge outpouring of grief, with hundreds of scarves, shirts and messages of sympathy being laid outside Elland Road by fans of clubs nationwide.
Mr Loftus, a 35-year-old fibre optics engineer, came from Burmantofts.
Father-of-two Mr Speight was a 40-year-old pub landlord from Farsley.
The Leeds Fans Remembrance fund has been launched to help mark the forthcoming 10th anniversary of their deaths.
Proceeds from appeal events will go to Leeds children's cancer charity Candlelighters.
Last month more than 100 people tackled Yorkshire's Three Peaks walk in aid of the fund.
Other dates include a sportsman's dinner at Leeds's Alea casino on November 15 and a gala dinner at United's Elland Road ground on April 3.
