LEEDS UNITED defender Tom Lees helped kick off the club’s half-term coaching courses for children.
The homegrown star dropped into the Grammar School at Leeds, which is hosting one of the Leeds United Foundation courses.
“I was saying to the youngsters this is how I got involved with the club,” said Tom.
“I went to a course like this and got a trial at [United training ground] Thorp Arch.
“Hopefully we can get some young players from courses like this.
“The rain didn’t help yesterday and they were trapped inside for a bit – but they were all enjoying themselves and that’s the main thing.”
Leeds United Foundation project officer Carla Cantrell said Tom’s support had been “fantastic”.
The foundation, the charitable arm of its parent football club, is also running coaching courses in Wakefield and Knaresborough this half-term holiday.
