The extended Marks & Spencer store at the soon-to-open Trinity Leeds shopping centre is bringing 60 new jobs to the area.

Expanding by more than 10,000 sq ft, the Briggate store will have more than seven Olympic-sized swimming pools’ worth of selling space when it opens its doors to shoppers on March 21.

The new-look store will feature new beauty and fashion sections, an extended homeware department and a second customer cafe, which will feature panoramic views of the Trinity development for 100 seated guests.

The new beauty section will bring international brands including Nuxe, Murad and Monotheme to Leeds.

Store manager, Paul Tyler, said: “We are thrilled to be in the final stages of unveiling our extended, redesigned store to our customers and can’t wait for them to benefit from the introduction of bigger fashion ranges, a new beauty and homeware offer as well as a second 100-seat M&S Cafe.”

The re-launch of the M&S store, in Briggate, will follow a week of celebrations to mark the launch of a heritage and coffee stall at the birthplace of the company, in Kirkgate Market.

Located just a 200m walk away from the store, visitors will have the chance to learn about the heritage of the brand while enjoying a coffee and purchasing branded gifts and merchandise.

The new stall coincides with the first anniversary of the opening of the Marks In Time exhibition at the M&S Company Archive at the University of Leeds.

Mr Tyler added: “We look forward to welcoming old and new customers to the newly revamped store when it is unveiled next week.”

Trinity Leeds, the only major retail and leisure development launching in the UK this year, will bring 2,600 new retail related jobs to the city.

The £350m development brings together more than 100 high-profile brands, with the UK’s largest Superdry, Hollister and Mango as well as Victoria’s Secret’s first store outside of London coming to Leeds for the very first time.

Trinity will also bring the first Everyman cinema to the north east, while the Trinity Kitchen will open as a casual dining destination in autumn.

For more information on the job opportunities available, applicants are advised to visit the Trinity Leeds Facebook page at: www.facebook.com/TrinityLeeds
