l

l

Police have warned a yob who smashed a window at historic Temple Newsam House to hand himself in before they track him down.

The teenager, who was among a group of around 10, caused £1,500 of damage when he put the window through on the evening of February 1.

PC David Lund, from the Crossgates and Whinmoor Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We have CCTV footage of this incident and the group of youths the suspect appears to be with.

“Our safer schools officers are currently viewing this footage and taking it round local schools and colleges to identify those involved.

“It is only a matter of time before we do this and it would be in the best interests of anyone connected to this incident to come and speak to us before we go and speak to them.”

The boy was white, aged about 16, 5ft 5ins tall, slim and a wearing a red hooded jumper, grey tracksuit bottoms and was carrying a dark coloured rucksack with white stripes on it.

Call PC Lund via 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
