Leeds: Sex pest hunted after four girls are targeted
A sex pest, who has molested three girls and tried to get a fourth into his car, is being hunted by police in Leeds.

Police believe the same man has targeted the girls on four separate occasions in just over two weeks in the Shadwell Lane, Moortown and Roundhay areas of north Leeds.

On three occasions the man either indecently assaulted his victims or made suggestive remarks and tried to force kisses on them.

Now police have stepped up patrols in a bid to catch him, and reassure the community.
The first incident took place between 7am and 8am on Wednesday, January 13 when a girl doing her paper round in Shadwell Lane, Moortown, was approached by a man who tried to hug and kiss her, but she managed to run away.

Soon after another teenager was walking further along Shadwell Lane when she was approached by the same man who touched her bottom.

Eleven days later on the morning of Sunday, January 24, a 16-year-old girl was also delivering newspapers on Harrogate Road, Moortown, when a man came up and touched her and tried to kiss her on the cheek while making suggestive remarks.
The latest reported incident was on Thursday, January 28 when a 17-year-old girl was on Eastmoor Crescent near Street Lane, Roundhay, at around 9.40am when a man, in what is believed to be a dark-coloured Vauxhall car, stopped and made attempts to talk to her and get inside his vehicle.
The man is described as of Asian, appearance, in his early 30s, about 5ft 6ins tall and of medium build with a chubby face. He has been unshaven with dark, short cropped hair or a shaven head and has been seen wearing casual clothing such as a jacket and tracksuit bottoms.
Inspector Andrew Briggs of the Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "Such incidents are thankfully quite unusual and these are being treated seriously. We do not wish to spread undue alarm, but people need to be aware and parents in particular need to keep their eyes open."
At this stage there is nothing to suggest that the assaults are connected to any elsewhere.
Sergeant Iain McKelvey said: "High-visibility patrols are being conducted in the area and I urge anyone who may know this man or who may have seen anyone fitting this description in the area to contact police to contact police on 0845 60 60 606 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
