STAFF at a salon in Horsforth are getting in gear for the Tour de France by pledging to Wear it Yellow.

Employees at Mousie Browns Hair and Beauty salon have signed up to the Yorkshire Evening Post’s Wear it Yellow Day.

The salon is one of over 30 organisations from across the region that are pledging to help turn Yorkshire yellow to mark the arrival of the Tour de France this summer.

Adele Mason, co-owner of the salon on Station Road, said: “We really liked the idea of trying to turn Yorkshire yellow.

“It is just good for Yorkshire to get behind such a big event and make it fun for as many people as possible.

“It is good for businesses to be a part of it as well, as it’s bringing more people to the area.”

Dozens of businesses, schools and communities across Yorkshire have promised to wear something yellow for the event on Thursday, July 3 and raise as much money as possible for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance charity.

The Wear it Yellow Day asks organisations to add their names to our regularly-published roll of honour, encourage individuals to wear yellow on the day and donate £1 each to the charity in the process.

Other organisations taking part in the fundraising event include Leeds Bradford International Airport, Bruntcliffe School, Primley Park Dentistry, KPMG Leeds, Revolution Viewing, St James’ Hospital and Barclays Huddersfield.
