Leeds sailor rewarded for 31 years of Royal Navy service

A Rothwell sailor has been awarded for his “excellent service and good conduct” with the Royal Navy over 31 years.

Warrant Officer Mark Fisher (right), who is based at HMS Collingwood, in Fareham, received the clasp for long service and good conduct medal from Fleet Commander Vice Admiral Sir Philip Jones.

The 47-year-old father-of-two said: “It is a great honour to have served in the Royal Navy for so long.”

Having joined in 1983, he has served on naval warships including HMS Illustrious, HMS Ark Royal and HMS Invincible.
