Leeds Rhinos star’s mammoth meal challenge

l

l

ACCORDING to the terrace chant “He’s Ryan Bailey, he does what he wants”.

The former Great Britain front-rower has played at Wembley, fronted-up to the mighty Australian Kangaroos and won six Super League Grand Finals.

But has Leeds Rhinos’ notorious tough-guy forward made a mis-steak by taking on the biggest meal in the city?

Bailey - who is 6ft 6ins tall and weighs in at 16st 12lbs - will discover if he has bitten off more than he can chew in a man versus food challenge at The Grill at Macys in Headingley on Monday night. (March 18)

In aid of team-mate Danny McGuire’s testimonial fund, prop-forward Bailey will take face up to the challenge of eating a 72oz rump steak, 10oz of fries, 10oz onion rings and a salad - all within an hour. The Rhinos squad are due to attend the challenge, which begins at 7.30pm.

Fans are welcome to attend - and to take on the food challenge themselves. Anyone wanting to take part needs to give Macys three days’ notice and pay a £15 deposit, which will be refunded if they eat the enormous meal within an hour. The price of failure is £45.

To book a table ring 0113 274 3796.

And see Danny McGuire’s column in Friday’s YEP for chance to take part in the challenge free of charge.
