Leeds restaurant boss fined for putting lamb in ‘ostrich’ curry

A restaurateur has been fined after he was caught serving up lamb to customers who ordered ostrich.

A diner who had been to Elamis Indian restaurant in Gildersome contacted West Yorkshire Trading Standards after becoming suspicious that the ostrich nirala they had ordered contained a different meat.

A trading standards officer posed as a customer at the Finkle Lane business last May before taking a sample for analysis.
