Leeds residents told ‘there are no plans to build on greenfield’

Residents in a Leeds village have been given assurances by councillors that greenfield land near their homes is not earmarked for development.

A public meeting was called to discuss concerns that houses were to be built at Church Fields, East Ardsley.

While not a protected green belt site, the meeting heard there were no development plans.

Coun Lisa Mulherin (Ardsley and Robin Hood) said: “We share local residents concerns about the need to ensure that new housing developments do not take place where road networks, schools and other amenities are inadequate to support them. We have consistently and fiercely defended the green belt around Ardsley and Robin Hood against development and will continue to do so.”
