Leeds pub’s Sunday outdoor ban to protect church

Drinkers at a Leeds pub have been banned from drinking outside on a Sunday morning.

Customers at The New Inn, in Rawdon, have been banned from drinking outside the pub on a Sunday to avoid disrupting services at nearby St Oswald’s Church.

The pub wanted to allow customers to drink between 10am and noon in the outside area on Sundays.

Councillor Pat Latty (Guiseley and Rawdon, Cons) said: “With the church being so close it could have been distracting and even offensive to people attending the morning service.”
