Two people killed when a car crashed into a tree in Leeds last week have been named by police.

As reported in the YEP, the incident happened on Denton Road, Ilkley, at around 3.30am on Friday, March 22.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said this morning: “Police can now reveal the identities of those who died as Jennifer Osborn, aged 35, and Steven Todd, aged 38, of Hampshire Close, Ilkley.

“Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident remain ongoing.”

As reported last week, the crash happened when a Hyundai Coupe carrying three people collided with a tree. The vehicle was travelling in the direction of Otley.

The driver, a 37-year-old man, sustained cuts and internal injuries. He was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment. The other two occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.

Any witnesses are asked to contact the Major Collision and Enquiry Team on the non emergency number 101.
