Leeds photographer has bad night for Arctic Tern ‘fish flight’

.

.

A Leeds photographer sacrificed sleep for two days in order to get this rare picture of Arctic Terns performing a courtship ritual.

Paul Miguel papped the lovestruck pair taking part in a ‘fish-flight’ – when the male presents a fish to the object of his affections – in Iceland.

Mr Miguel said: “I spent five days in Iceland photographing the wonderful landscape and wildlife.

“To capture images in the best conditions I had to work with the late evening and early morning light. This meant managing just six hours sleep in two days.”
