Bouncing babies Ethan and CJ gave their parents a special start to the new year.
The two adorable newborns were the first to come into the world at Leeds hospitals in 2013.
Ethan Jack Young arrived at 12.25am, weighing 8lbs 15 oz.
He was the first baby to be born at Leeds General Infirmary in 2013.
Dad Paul Dennison told the Yorkshire Evening Post: “Being at the hospital was terrifying.
“But being a dad is the greatest feeling.
“It’s just excellent. Everything went to plan.
“The baby was due on December 31, so he was pretty much on time.
“Being the first baby born in Leeds didn’t even cross my mind. But it is nice to have a New Year’s baby.”
He added: “Ethan is a quiet baby and he was a bit camera shy.”
Ethan and mum Nichole Young are both doing well and are now back at home in Bramley. The first baby of 2013 to be born at St James’ Hospital was Craig Junior Wright.
Craig Junior, or CJ, was eager to make an entrance and arrived seven days early at the Leeds hospital.
CJ was born at 1.21am, weighing 6lbs 11oz.
Mum Jodie Gill, who lives in Whinmoor, said: “CJ is my first child.
“Giving birth wasn’t exactly easy but it was much better than I thought it was going to be.
“He was meant to get here on January 8 but he had different ideas.
“Although I was in labour for two days, my waters broke at about 12am and an hour later he was here, so it was quite quick in the end.
“I didn’t really think about the timing of it though.”
Jodie was joined by her mother Kath Gill and partner Craig Wright at the local hospital.
Jodie added: “CJ is a really quiet baby.
“I think I have only heard him cry once so far.”
