Ed Balls backed a campaign urging people to devote an hour to tackling poverty by taking 60 minutes out of his own schedule.
The shadow chancellor and Morley and Outwood MP visited St Vincent Support Centre on York Road, which helps some of the most deprived, to discuss Hour Leeds with business people.
The initiative urges people to give an hour of time – or pay – for charity.
St Vincent’s centre manager Charlotte Walton said: “We are delighted that Ed Balls has backed out campaign by donating an hour of his time to talk to the movers and shakers of Leeds.”
