A man is due back in court on Friday charged over the murder of a man in a quiet village on the outskirts of Leeds.
Sidney Cox, 57, died of multiple injuries following a vicious attack at Thorpe Farm, on Middleton Lane in Thorpe near Rothwell on August 24.
Michael Valance Dear, 39, of Norton Common Road, Askern, Doncaster, appeared at Leeds Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday charged with his murder.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Leeds Crown Court on Friday.
Mr Dear is one of nine people who have been arrested by officers from West Yorkshire Police’s homicide and major enquiry team in connection with Mr Cox’s death, but the only one so far to have been charged with murder.
They are still trying to find 40-year-old Karl Gaskin in connection with the murder.
