Leeds man boasts General Election scoop
If political success had a taste, it would be blue stilton and pineapple for a Conservative. Or red rose and berry for a Socialist.
For these are the Polling Day flavours created by Mike Tattersall, the Heston Blumenthal of ice cream.

He is offering five different flavours through the election campaign, with mango (for the Lib Dems) being the most popular.

The Green party is blessed with a rich almond and pistachio ice and the Monster Raving Loonies get, appropriately, a fruitcake and rhubarb mix.

Father-of-two Mike, 45, of Roundhay, got the idea for his election specials from his wife Rajni who said: "A good party needs ice cream."

"That made me think of political parties and doing an ice cream for each," said Mike.
He is now inviting the public to vote for them on his website, www.indie-ices.co.uk.
Mike wrote to three politicians to tell them of his products – Lords Steel, Mandelson and Tebbitt – and the former, David Steel, replied: "What a splendid idea! My favourite is mango kulfi."
Mr Tattersall makes his products at home and calls his business Indie Ices – indie for independent and also for Indian. For he makes them to Kulfi recipes which are popular in Asia.
He became a house-husband after spending years in the food industry as a technical manager.
"But I turned my back on the unsociable hours and have looked after my two small children for five years now.
"Rajni fully supported my career break and always had faith that I would develop a successful idea for a business.
"It would be nice if someone invited me to serve ices on election night," he added. "I'd love to be in the BBC studio."
And what would his own choice be as a treat? "Fruitcake and rhubarb," he said. "Does that say anything about me? I will leave that to others' imaginations."
