Leeds lawyers tot up £2,000 on high heels

Legal eagles from Leeds have helped raise nearly £2,000 after teetering about town in high heels along with Girls Aloud's Kimberley Walsh.

A 10-strong team from Winston Solicitors LLP took to the streets of the city centre as part of the UK's first ever 'high heel-a-thon', headed up by the Girls Aloud star.

Kimberley is the ambassador for charity Breast Cancer Haven which organised the event last month.

The solicitors' team, which included a representative from each of the firm's departments, helped raise nearly 2,000.

Everyone who took part, including the men, wore high heels to raise cash for women and men affected by breast cancer.

Jonathan Winston, a partner at Winston Solicitors, said "Walking around in high-heels (including the men) seemed a great way to raise money and support Breast Cancer Haven. We are proud of our team and would like to thank everyone who made a donation to the charity."

A total of 200 took part in the event which has so far raised 8,500.
