Leeds: Help to trace rare model trains and cars
POLICE are appealing for help to trace rare model trains and cars worth £30,000 stolen during a burglary in Leeds.
The items, including locomotives and coaches, were taken in a raid at a house in Bramley on Sunday, April 25.
The goods, which were all new and boxed, included popular makes such as Hornby.
Among them were a number of unique and specialised models, including Bachmann Irish Rail locomotives commissioned by Murphy Models, Dublin.
The models were in dark blue boxes.
Also stolen were distinctive Murphy Models Irish Rail coaches in black boxes and specialist brand Heljan models in blue boxes.
Police say there are only a small number of dealers in the north of England who sell these models.
Anybody who has been offered these items for sale, or has any information about their whereabouts, should call PC 860 Chris Craven at Belle Vue police station via 0845 6060606 or Crimestoppers, anonymously and in confidence, on 0800 555 111.
* A 15-year-old youth arrested and charged in connection with the burglary is due to appear at Leeds Youth Court on June 11.
