A Leeds woman has launched a campaign to urge young people not to ignore the warning signs after she lost a close friend to cancer last year.
Hayley Mills, 25, of Hunslet, wants people her age to take health issues seriously after mum-of-one Elise Chandler, 25, died of breast cancer.
Hayley has been working with Fixers – a charity that supports young people aged 16-25 to tackle any issue that matters to them – to get her message across.
With Fixers, Hayley and her team are creating a leaflet to empower young people to recognise changes in their body and to seek medical advice.
Hayley said: “Even if it is just one person whose life we save, then something positive can be taken from the campaign.”
