Two talented young dancers from Leeds are set to perform at the prestigious ‘Dance Proms’ at the Royal Albert Hall.

Nathan Colman, 18, and Emily Loumba, 21, will share the stage with 25 other dance acts and celebrity dancers including Darren Bennett and Lilia Kopylova from TV’s Strictly Come Dancing.

The pair – who both live in Garforth and study at SLP College in Garforth – will perform at the iconic London venue on November 4.

They were picked after their dance teacher submitted an online video of them performing a dance routine called ’To make you feel my love,’ which they had chroreographed.

Nathan said: “I am very excited to be performing at the Royal Albert Hall. It is a dream come true before I graduate next year. I am thrilled to be dancing with Emily, who is my favourite dance partner.”

SLP College principal Sandra Reid, said: “As we are based in the north students sometimes feel out of touch. This wonderful opportunity gives us the platform for them to feel part of ‘The London Scene.’

“This rare experience has totally overwhelmed them. Performing at the Royal Albert Hall will be the memory of a lifetime.”

Dance Proms patron Darcy Bussell CBE, said: “Dance Proms provides young dancers from all genres with the opportunity to dance in a truly inspirational setting and I am honoured to be a patron of the project. It is important that young dancers have as many opportunities as possible to experience performing in productions, so that they learn how to perfect their beautiful art form.’

Dance Proms at the Royal Albert Hall is open to the public and tickets are now on sale from £12 through the Royal Albert Hall Box Office on 0845 401 5045 and website www.royalalberthall.com.
